Willis now looking forward to Youth Olympics at end of month

Jo Richardson schoolgirl Hayley Willis, won a medal in the European Cadet Judo Championships last week in Cottonera, Malta.

The 15-year-old (pictured), had to settle for bronze though as despite winning three out of her four fights, she lost to the eventual winner.

Willis won by throws in each of her victories in the under-44kg event, and is now looking to build on that success for the Youth Olympics, which is taking place in Turkey at the end of the month.

“Hayley’s bronze in Malta is her most significant medal yet,” said her proud father and coach, Paul Willis.
