The latest news from the Toshi Kazoku Judokwai club
Toshi Kazoku Judokwai member Fayokemi Abdekun received an early Christmas present as she took home a bronze medal from the British National Judo Championships.
Abdekun performed brilliantly at the event in Sheffield and reached the semi-finals before losing.
However, the TKJ member dusted herself down to triumph in her bronze medal match and ensure she had something to take home from the event.
Abdekun was one of three TKJ members to make the trip to Yorkshire, along with Lauren Jones and Justus Smitrius.
Though Jones and Smitrius did not medal in Sheffield, they could hold their heads high after a string of fine displays.
“This has been a perfect end to a fantastic year for all at this club and I’m already looking forward to a successful 2018,” said coach Turan Kiani.
Toshi Kazoku Judokwai train every Tuesday and Thursday evening at the Barking Abbey School Leisure Centre in Woodbridge Road.
