Stillwater details: Congratulations to Barking and Dagenham Council and Bardag AS for the development that is happening at the Chase and Tom Thumb lakes, writes KEITH LEVERETT.

The work that is being carried out on all the fisheries will give great pleasure to all classes of anglers and juniors with coaching and good countryside practise.

There is also good news for disabled anglers who will have plenty of accessible swims.

The front lake of the Chase has a good head of thirty pound plus carp and cats to 30lbs plus.

The Enviroment Agency has spent many thousands of pounds on building new swims.

The council has been spending also with platforms and accessibility. There are plenty of fish for everybody in the lakes. Juniors have plenty of smaller fish in the Thumb.

Bardag themselves have spent over £20,000 pounds on fish for the front and back lakes.

As most locals will know there is plenty of parking at the centre and a cafe is available with snacks and drinks, there are also toilets available.

Best carp this week reported from Wagtail lake at Tylers Common was a quality 16lb mirror, P.Squibb on peg 25 had a 100lb of carp to 7lbs on corn and worm.

At Tylers there is plenty of fresh bait and carp baits available, also tackle. and good toilets there as well.

Match results: The Tuesday open on Ash lake at Tylers was won this week by Alec Roberts with 135lbs 12ozs on peg 10 he fished with corn in the margins.

Taking second place was Tate Dalton with 134lbs 8ozs using pellet, Rav Pisano third with 89lbs, D.Davies fourth 67lbs, fifth Dennis Lipscombe with 53lbs.

The Saturday Open on the Horseshoe Lake was won this week by Bobby Wager who weighed in with 60lbs on peg 46, he used corn and meat, second place went to Alec Roberts with 45lbs 13ozs, third Rav Pisano with 41lbs 12ozs,.

Future matches: The Saturday Open matches will now be run on the Horseshoe Lake so it will be worthwhile to book your place now by ringing Bobby Wager on telephone number 0797 025 8737.

Dennis Lipscombe will be running open matches at Tylers Common on Willow and Ash lakes on Tuesdays during the weeks ahead .
