THE Dagenham Tri-Schools Rugby Sevens Tournament produced some rip-roaring action and fiercely-fought encounters which culminated in victory for All Saints School.

The event was hosted by Sydney Russell School, who themselves reached the final before losing to the eventual winners 29-0 in a match that was a lot closer than the score-line suggested.

In earlier clashes, Sydney Russell defeated Dagenham Park 26-0 while All Saints booked their place in the final with a 31-0 win, with Dagenham Park again on the receiving end.

"They (Sydney Russell) played well but All Saints deserved to win," admitted Sydney Russell coach Christopher Clarke. "We've only been playing sevens rugby since the start of this year and I was impressed with how they played.

"The event was superbly well organised and we had quite a few watching it. There were a few families and supporters and the event was well staged. We weren't disappointed to lose though of course, we wanted to win.
