William Bellamy win Quick Sticks Festival at Robert Clack
William Bellamy Primary School came out on top at a special hockey event for pupils in Barking & Dagenham held at Robert Clack this week.
A total of 16 teams contested the Barking & Dagenham Primary Schools Quick Sticks Hockey Festival, defying wind, rain and hail, before the sun eventually came out!
Play continued despite the difficult conditions and William Bellamy were crowned champions after a close-fought final with Valence St George.
The championships were organised in partnership with Romford Hockey Club, who use the Robert Clack Leisure Centre for their home fixtures in the East and Essex Leagues, and the University of East London, who helped by providing umpires for the day.
