Spencer's on the 50lb mark at Horseshoe

Stillwater report: It seems that the Horseshoe Lake at Tylers Common has been fishing well as Chris Spencer certainly proved fishing peg 23 on a club match with an impressive 50lbs of fish all caught on pellet and sweetcorn, writes KEITH LEVERETT.
The Wagtail Lake has also been rewarding anglers including Martin Taylor who had an 8lbs 11oz tench plus good quality roach to 3lbs 4ozs using caster and hemp.
On peg 20 William Gould was also enjoying his visit to the Brentwood fishery when he had nine carp to 20lbs 1oz on pineapple boilies.
Match results: The Tuesday Open on the Willow Lake was won by J.Green with 97lbs all the fish were caught on the pole and pellet.
Taking second place was R. Pisano with 51lbs, third Daren Hutchinson with 45lbs, fourth D.Reynolds with 43lbs.
The Elm Park and Hornchurch club this week headed for the River Cam at Clayhithe, where some 12 members fished with a total weight of 26lbs 6ozs 8dms.
Top weight went to Martin Cass wo weighed in with 8lbs 15ozs of bread punch fish, second at Clayhithe was Steve Ewin with 6lbs ozs.
Filling third spot on the Elm Park trip was Mickey Steadman with 4lbs 13ozs, fourth place to Colin Luff with 3lbs 7ozs 8dms, fifth Peter Ainslie with 1lbs 10oz, sixth Brian Griffiths with 1lbs 5ozs.
The Saturday Open on the Ash Lake was won this week by John Hunt with his catch of 75lbs 4ozs using pole and pellet.
Taking second place on a successful day was Dennis Lipscombe who weighed in with 65lbs 5ozs on peg 10, third D.Hutchinson with 61lbs 4ozs.
Finishing fourth on the Ash Lake was S.Shinou with 57lbs 12ozs, fifth Dave Vincent with 56lbs 12ozs, sixth T.Pritlove on 52lbs 6ozs.
Future matches: Dennis Lipscombe will be continuing to organise these successful open matches on Willow and Ash Lakes on Tuesdays during the winter months.
