Taylor-made success at Wagtail Lake

At the same lake on peg 29 Paul Webster had a 16lbs mirror carp on pepperami.
Anglers will welcome the news that the beginning of April sees a regular bait and tackle supplier at Tyler's Common fishery.
At the Warren the Match Lake has been fishing well up to the middle of last week with superb bags of bream and tench also quality roach.
Fishing has slowed over the last few days with the onset of the cold weather.
Catch of the week goes to junior Matt Tinworth with the biggest perch of the year - a fine specimen of 2lbs 8ozs. Peter Spencer had a superb four-hour session with seven tench up to 5lbs and three bream to 5lbs, plus quality roach for a total weight of 40lbs.
All the fish were caught on pole fished caster and pinkie. Mickey Noakes landed 29 roach to 1lbs 8ozs, six bream to 6lbs and four tench to 5lbs in a six-hour session from peg 19. Total weight was nearly 80lbs.
Alan Wholas had a nice bag of tench up to 4lbs 8ozs. Dave Hemmings fished peg 23 and took 18 tench on caster for a catch of 50lbs. Last Wednesday Gary Shaves took 14 tench up to 4lbs from peg 29 using red maggot.
The Main Lake has been producing plenty of large carp with 10 over 20lbs.
Best of the week was Danny Jenkins who, during a three-day session, landed 10 carp, five over 20lbs with the best a superb mirror weighing 27lbs 7ozs and was just pipped by Kevin Orchard with a fine mirror of 27lbs 10ozs.
The pike fishing has slowed down as the fish get ready for spawning.
A number of small fish up to 8lbs are being caught but Victor Reed bucked the trend with a nice fish of 20lbs 2ozs.
Steve Moss managed the best pike, a lovely specimen of 21lbs 12ozs caught on a float fished smelt from the logs area.
Match results: The open match on Ash Lake last Tuesday was won by Dennis Lipscombe with 111lbs on pole and pellet, second R. Pisano with 64lbs, third D. Davies with 59lbs, fourth Bill Reynolds with 57lbs.
The Good Friday open on Horseshoe Lake was won by John Hunt with 26lbs on maggot feeder, second S. Barnett with 25lbs, third A. Spooner with 24lbs 8ozs, fourth Bobby Wager with 23lbs 12ozs, fifth B. Riley with 23lbs, sixth C. Thurston with 21lbs 8ozs.
The latest Saturday open event had to be fished on Ash and Willow Lake because the powerful winds made the Horseshoe Lake unfishable.
First was George Manoli with 61lbs 8ozs with pole and pellet, Steve Coppen with 45lbs 12ozs, third R. Pisano with 43lbs 8ozs, Bobby Wager fourth with 28lbs, D. Booth fifth with 25lbs 8ozs, Graham Dack sixth with 22lbs.
