Jegede spends time with pupils talking about life as an athlete.
Team Great Britain athlete JJ Jegede paid a welcome visit to Sports Excellence students on Tuesday at Eastbury School.
Jegede’s appearance was part of the Sky Sports Living For Sport Project, and is the second time the long jumper, who competes for Newham & Esses Beagles, attended the school after a similar visit last year.
The 29-year-old is the sixth Team GB member to attend the school, and over 100 students from year seven, nine and 12 spent time with Jegede, going through his rise as an elite athlete, his roots as a local lad and an inspirational workshop going through the Sky Sports ‘Six Steps for Success’ program.
On the visit, a spokesperson for the school said: “The students had a great time and JJ is a truly genuine and inspiring person. The kids love him visiting us and whether it be year seven or year 12 the feedback I get is always extremely positive in terms of their enjoyment from time spent with him. Such a nice guy.”
