Toshi Kazoku Judokwai youngsters enjoy national championships success

Four Toshi Kazoku Judokwai stars performed well in their call-ups to represent London at the national teams judo championships in Kent.

Justus Smitruis was part of the gold medal boys pre cadet team that had a fantastic day destroying every team they come up against to take home the top prize and become national team champions.

Lauren Jones and Fayokemi Abidekun took part in the cadet girls team that also had a great day making it all the way to the final where they lost out to the Scotland girls team to finish with silver.

While, Fobaniyi Abidekun performed really well in her first time competing at this level, but unfortunately the team didn’t make it out of the group stages.

Coach Turan Kiani said: “To think that this judo club that is only just two years old has had four of its members not only selected to represent London but to perform so well feels me with pride.”
