He fished seven and 14 metres using worm and pellet to finish ahead of second-placed Jason Collins (Browning Wickford) on peg two with a catch of 103lbs 13ozs.

Third place on Saturday was claimed by Jim Collins (Ockendon Bait & Tackle) on peg five with a catch of 73lbs 12ozs.

On peg 22 Mickey Hood (Bromages) came fourth with 70lbs 8ozs, fifth place was taken by Tony Eustace (Tylers) on peg four with 64lbs 10ozs and in sixth place was Steve James (Ockendon Bait and Tackle) on peg 10 with a catch of 56lbs 8ozs.

Stillwater report: At the Main Lake at the Warren, junior angler Jack Wallace managed to catch a 21lb 8oz mirror and a 20lbs 8oz common from the pier.

24lb Mirror

Dave Hawkridge was another angler enjoying his visit to the main Lake after he reeled in a 24lbs 14oz mirror from Kidney Bay.

Greg Ellis also impressed catching a 21lb common from the beach. Gordon Edwards junior captured a 24lbs 4oz mirror carp, closely followed by a 22lbs 8oz common carp.

The pike fishing has produced catches of 12lbs to 26lbs 8ozs at the logs. This is one of the biggest reported specimen pike of the season.

This was followed up a few days later with an 18lbs 4oz specimen caught from the north bank and another angler Brian Beck managed a 12lb fish from the same area.

Neil Dutton caught a 2lb 8oz perch and a 21lbs 8oz pike. He also had pike of 6lb and 8lbs.
