A Chadwell Heath artist is to have her work appear alongside top names at London’s Mall Galleries.

Helen Parsliffe, 44, is just one of the artists chosen from 1,350 entries to have their work showcased in the Bite: Artists Making Prints exhibition.

The artist, who originally trained as a graphic designer has had work displayed at the Manhattenville exhibition in New York and at Free Range held at the Old Truman Brewery in London.

Printmaking

Her latest showcase comes after she left her City job and went back to studying.

She said: “After working in the city for three years I wanted a change in direction and decided to return to university as a mature student to study illustration and printmaking.”

The artist, who uses many of the printmaking processes such as photo-transfer and etching, screen-printing and lino-cut printing, says her real love is drawing.

Her works span a variety of disciplines over several media platforms, exploring numerous cultural, observational, historical and mythical references.

The exhibition will also feature the work of celebrated artists such as Damien Hirst, Sir Peter Blake, Gary Hume and John Hoyland.

Helen says: “I have always had a passion for art and this exhibition is a great opportunity for me as it allows me to showcase my work alongside some of the great contemporary artists, as well as building up a strong clientele.”

The exhibition runs from August 24 to September 3, from 10am to 5pm and costs 2.50 per person.
