If you’re in the mood for a traditional Christmas Eve exploring the true meaning of Christmas there are plenty of church services to choose from.
St Chad’s Church, in Eric Road, Chadwell Heath, is hosting two services tomorrow including a Holy Communion from 11pm which will take you right the way through to Christmas morning.
The 4pm Christingle service is run by the church’s youth group and will include carols, dance, drama and an explanation of what Christingle represents.
Rev Martin Court said: “Celebrating Christmas is of far more importance than just allowing the majority of UK residents, who profess themselves to be Christian, to worship their Lord and saviour.
“It’s about reminding us all that the UK is built on the moral and ethical laws that Jesus and the Bible proclaim.”
Dagenham Parish Church, in Church Lane, will also be hosting a traditional midnight mass carol service from 11.30pm.
Most of the other churches will be opening their doors on Christmas Day for morning church services.
Call your nearest church to find out about services.
