You know what you're getting with Gabrielle, simple catchy soul that will delight the masses without pushing too many boundaries.

No surprise then that her fifth studio album plays to this same format and is likely to keep the songstress enjoying the success she has earned over her long career in the industry.

The best moments on Always are reserved for the sombre moments of "Why?" and "I'm not in love" where Gabrielle oozes the pop class that saw her rise to fame.

The flip side of this coin is that some of Always is a little too conventional and a little too uninspiring.

Some tracks are far from lyrically groundbreaking and would be more at home in an elevator than the charts.

However the good far outweighs the bad in this soulful serving and there's little to suggest that Gabrielle is losing her magic touch with singing or song writing.
