THE Town is the tale of four men – thieves, rivals and friends – being hunted through the streets of Boston by an FBI agent and a woman who might destroy them all. Doug MacRay (Ben Affleck) was born and raised in Charlestown, a crime-ridden Boston suburb. He is the brains and ruthless leader of a gang of bank robbers.

He knows his luck will not last forever and he is looking for one last big heist that will give him the chance to leave the town.

The book, of the same name, won the 2005 Hammett Prize for excellence in crime writing.
