Claudia Winkleman is set to return to ITV as the host of a major TV comeback.

The broadcaster has reportedly signed up to front the UK revival of Hell’s Kitchen, Gordon Ramsay’s high-pressure cooking competition, which originally ran from 2004 to 2009.

Winkleman is expected to continue hosting her hit BBC game show, The Traitors, alongside her new role.

A source told The Sun: "This is a major coup for ITV and everyone is very excited.

"Claudia was exceptional on Hell’s Kitchen back in the Noughties and is absolutely still the right person for the job."

The show sees chef Ramsay put aspiring chefs through a series of tough culinary challenges before crowning a winner.

Ramsay previously hinted at plans to bring the show back to UK screens.

He told The Sun: "I can tell you exclusively, I think we’re gonna come back to the UK with Hell’s Kitchen live next year.

"And it’s about time, because everywhere I go across the UK it’s, 'Please bring it back.'

"So we’re talking now with ITV to bring it back. And fingers crossed, we’ll have something exciting to keep you updated on."

The news comes just days after the conclusion of The Celebrity Traitors, which saw comedian Romesh Ranganathan, 48, and actor Sebastian Croft, 24, win the second series.

The pair, both Faithfuls, eliminated the final Traitor, King Kenny, and decided to split the £83,000 prize between their chosen charities in the dramatic finale.

Mr Croft, who stars in Heartstopper, said: "The money will be going to refugees and displaced people, but predominantly queer refugees and displaced people, and they are just the best organisation."

Mr Ranganathan revealed his share would go to the Refugee Council.

He said: "I am playing for the Refugee Council, helping displaced people who need help, and it's a cause that's very close to my heart, so I'm very, very grateful for this."

Mr Ranganathan said he hoped his family would be proud.
